History
In 1999, Prasad Mokkapati, Medrium’s Founder and Chief Technology Officer, embarked on a journey to develop the first fully web-based practice management system for physicians. At that time, Prasad’s sister, a physician, shared with him her frustrations with processing claims and expediting reimbursement. Despite a thriving practice, Prasad’s sister spent a significant portion of her time communicating with payors to discuss rejected claims rather than spending time with her patients. Many of the rejected claims stemmed from a common issue: coding errors. Prasad realized many of these errors could be eliminated with a continually updated and easy-to-use platform. Utilizing his engineering expertise, Prasad set forth to develop a platform that addressed the inadequacies of common billing software. Using a sophisticated filtering engine, Medrium’s advanced software provided a unique and efficient solution. Since its launch, Medrium has allowed thousands of physicians, like Prasad’s sister, to spend more time with their patients and less time negotiating with payors, resulting in a more profitable practice by optimizing and expediting reimbursement.
